Mountain Precision was built on over 30 years of engineering experience, a decade of military weapons work, and a lifelong obsession with making the shot count.
Growing up hunting in Southeast Washington in the Blue Mountains, I learned early what it feels like to watch an animal walk out of range because your rifle just wasn't built for the distance. That frustration stuck with me — and it never really went away.
I spent 10 years in the military working on weapons systems and training others to shoot. After service, I competed in 1000-yard Benchrest in the early 2000s, where I learned what precision truly means at long range. Every experience added to the same foundation: a deep understanding of what makes a rifle perform when it matters most. In 2019, my family and I discovered PRS and NRL competitions and it reignited everything. Competing in both Rimfire and Centerfire disciplines across the country pushed my understanding of precision to a new level, and made it clear that building better rifles wasn't just a hobby anymore.
About a year and a half ago I decided to stop waiting and build the shop I'd always envisioned. I invested in professional CNC equipment and launched Mountain Precision right here in Colorado.
